Grilles and ceramic tiles quietly inhabit the architecture of Sabadell. A walk through the city, from the church of Sant Fèlix (from the medieval period) until Modernism - will allow you to discover their development throughout history.
Grilles and tiles have been present in many artistic forms, but they can particularly be found in the flowering of the applied arts from the period of Modernism. This movement conceived buildings as total artworks, so architects thought out the design of their works down to the last detail. Ceramic tiles are found in various places on properties: on the façade in the form of a soffit, in the entrance hall, or inside covering the lower parts of the walls, in the form of vents...
As for wrought iron, this also appears in different places (on windows, doors, balconies...) and in different forms (door knockers, lamps...).
Below we offer a list of buildings, some of which are open to the public, which are representative of these applied arts.
