Modernism in Sabadell
The artistic movement known as Modernism arrived in Sabadell at a time of great economic expansion. Since the middle of the 19th century, the city's industrial development had prospered, making Sabadell an economic centre at a national level, dedicated to manufacturing woollen cloth. In the Modernist trend, the middle classes found a means of expressing themselves and demonstrating their role.
